Mindfulness Courses

*****Drop In Mindfulness Sessions*****
These take place on the last Thursday of the month, 7.30pm – 8.45pm at The Bell Room, Hathersage, Hope Valley. 

£10, or a package of 5 sessions for £40. You MUST be booked in in advance, and payment is also in advance. Please contact Alison on 07706 188109.

Please note that once you are booked in, you are agreeing to my cancellation policy, which applies to any of my treatments, workshops or sessions. If you cancel, you must give me at least 24 hours notice for a one to one treatment, or 48 hours notice for a one to one or group Mindfulness session of any kind, or payment will be taken. 

 

Group Mindfulness Courses 

I run Group Mindfulness Courses (for Health and Well-Being or Insight) 3 times a year, spring, autumn, and winter. 

The courses last for 8 weeks and can be completed in two 4 week blocks if preferred. The courses run at various locations in Hope, Bamford and Hathersage.  The courses are rooted in the Rinzai Zen tradition.

Health and Well-being Course


In this course you will learn how to cope with stress in a different way. We will discuss health topics that impact our nervous system and learn how mindfulness can help reduce stress and find new ways of coping with life’s challenges. The theory is very simple but the effects are profound when we learn to become more present and recognise what is happening for us in any situation.

Insight Course

In this 8 week course, you will explore meditations for Insight and Grounding. The course is full of thought-provoking content, with a meditation every session; it is idea for those interested in self-enquiry and deepening and developing your practice. If you’ve not done any meditation or mindfulness before, contact me as you may still be able to attend.

Alison is an amazing therapist. She uses her intuition to guide her to the best treatment approach for her client. She uses many different treatment approaches to get fhe best results. I have completed one of Alison’s courses and it transformed my whole life thinking and definitely helped with my erratic sleep pattern. The courses are carried out in a lovely and relaxed atmosphere everyone starts at the same level and it’s so nice to be in a group and realise that other people often are experiencing the same as you. I have just completed the mindfulness and meditation course with Alison. If you're thinking about it I truly recommend that you do this course. The content each week has been so interesting and covers something which everyone can relate to in their own lives. It teaches us to slow down and notice what might be triggering our stresses and how that can affect us in so many ways. The course covered lots of ways in which we can calm our minds and bodies and be able to use these methods in many situations, whenever needed. Meditation is such a powerful tool and Alison teaches lots of methods of bringing this into your everyday life and how life-changing it can be. Alison has a wealth of knowledge and with a background in alternative medicines, acupuncture, eft and massage, she knows just how much of an impact stress has on our lives and is dedicated to helping people find proven ways of eradicating stress and to start living the life we deserve.   • 8 weeks £200 

  • Payment is in advance, either the full cost of £200 before the first session, or one payment of £115 before the first session and another payment of £115 before the 5th session.

My next course will be starting in the Autumn. Please contact me for details. It will run on a  Tuesday evening, from 7pm – 8.30pm for 8 weeks, although there is a week’s gap between Session 7 and Session 8.

It will take place at The Old School House, Hope, Hope Valley.

All the meditation practices on the course can be done sitting on a chair , walking standing or lieing down .  we would find a posture that works for you . Dont let physical pain be a barrier to your practice . There is always another way! 

Absolutely!  Most people have head chatter while meditating even Buddha himself had a noisy mind at times. You WILL still get the benefits of mediation even on a noisy day .With time the monkey mind settles and the noise gets quieter . 

You can not get it wrong ! Some days will feel easier than others depending on the kind of day we are having but if you keep bringing your awareness back when it starts to wander as best you can then you are doing the practice correctly . All this will be explained to you.

One to One Mindfulness Session

A relaxing and empowering session where we will explore what your main priority is for your physical and emotional well-being. We will then use a range of Mindfulness techniques which will give you the tools to use to cope with whatever life throws your way. 

1 Hour  £60

8 Week One to One Mindfulness Course for Health and Well-Being

Perhaps you prefer to work on your own; perhaps you simply can’t make it to the face to face course. Here we will follow the same course content as my Group Session but we can personalise it depending on your personal circumstances. A great way to both learn about Mindfulness but also to develop yourself personally in a confidential, one to one, caring environment. Available face to face or online.

8 x 60mins. £400

8 Week Mindfulness Group Course for Health and Well-Being

This course will provide you with the tools to deal with stress and anxiety, and life in general, in a new way. Each week we will discuss a different topic relevant to health and well-being, (e.g. role stress, anxiety and depression) and you will learn about Mindfulness in depth. Each session will also include different Mindfulness Meditations and Relaxations. Work in a small group situation and learn from other people’s experiences as well as your own.

8 x 1 hour 30mins. £200

Seasonal Mindfulness Workshop

Suitable for everyone from the beginner to the experienced. Come along to our seasonal sessions throughout the year and enjoy a topical look at Mindfulness. 

We will explore a relevant seasonal topic and how it relates to Mindfulness. You will learn some techniques and tools to help you cope with whatever life throws at you at this time of year.

Session content will vary but will always include some discussion on aspects of Mindfulness and Meditation and also a 30 minute, deeply relaxing Mindfulness Practice. 

Refreshments available.

This is a perfect opportunity for you to try Mindfulness in a caring and non-threatening environment to see if you are interested in taking your practice further. 

1 hour 30mins approx. £20

Drop in sessions for everyone from beginners to the experienced

Suitable for everyone – whether you have experienced Mindfulness before, done in-depth training in Mindfulness, or know absolutely nothing about it. 

Come along to our Drop in sessions either regularly or as a stand-alone – anything goes! 

These sessions are more relaxed, and are primarily an opportunity for you to relax and to switch off from everyday life, and have a warm drink with like-minded people afterwards.

Content may vary, but will always include a 30 minute, deeply relaxing Mindfulness Practice, plus the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about your own practice. 

This is a perfect opportunity for you to try Mindfulness in a caring and non-threatening environment to see if you are interested in taking your practice further.
